Les Grottes de Remouchamps

Les Grottes de Remouchamps

Reserve

Description

Located in the province of Liège, the Remouchamps Caves are among the most remarkable underground sites in Wallonia. Discovered in the 19th century, they offer an experience combining geological discovery, historical immersion, and modern presentation.

The visit takes place in two parts: a walking tour of about one kilometre through galleries rich in stalactites and stalagmites, including the impressive Cathedral Hall (up to 40 metres high), followed by an underground boat trip on the Rubicon River, the longest tourist underground boat ride in Europe. The entire visit lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Beyond their tourist appeal, the caves also hold significant scientific and historical value, with formations dating back several hundred thousand years and evidence of early human presence.

Accessible to a wide audience, the caves offer guided tours in several languages, options for groups and schools, as well as adapted facilities on request for visitors with reduced mobility. Additional services (shop, catering, booking) enhance the overall experience.

The Remouchamps Caves are therefore a must-see destination, combining natural heritage, immersive discovery, and educational value.
