Country of wood, stone and water, Vielsalm has magnificent landscapes and a varied nature: the fagnes of the Tailles plateau, the Grand Bois de Bêchefa, the swamps of Commanster, the splendid view of the Bec of the Raven, the Lac des Doyards or the wide valleys of Grand-Halleux and Petit-Thier. In its 23 villages and hamlets, you will discover a building that showcases shale, arkose and slate. Vielsalm offers sports and relaxation facilities, popular and festive meetings and a warm welcome in its hotels, restaurants, holiday villages, shops, farmhouses and campsites.
Close to two highways, the municipality of Vielsalm is located in Haute Ardennes, at the north-eastern tip of the province of Luxembourg, on the edge of the Province of Liège, not far from the Luxembourg and German borders. Born from the merger of the old communes of Vielsalm, Grand Halleux, Petit-Thier and Bihain, some parts of Lierneux, Beho and Arbrefontaine are attached.
The relief is varied:
